National Lipstick Day

Yesterday was National Lipstick Day. To honour that, today's post is, of course, dedicated to a new line of lipsticks from Urban Decay: the new and amazing Revolution Lipstick!

This creamy lipstick is not only highly pigmented but it's also hydrating, infused with avocado oil, jojoba oil, and shea butter! It also defines and plumps up lines, making your lips look fuller and bigger. I also found that it was extremely long lasting even without a lip liner and it did not bleed at all! I basically wore it at work for over 3 hours and it was still there. I cannot get over how amazing the texture is as the hydration provides immediate comfort on dry lips.

Get yours at Urban Decay. There are 22 amazing shades!

Catfight is a rich hot pink, with a cool undertone. Perfect for fair and neutral skin tones.

F-Bomb is a classic red, amazing on all skin tones and perfect fit for a vintage look.

Venom is a deep dark purple, fit for all skin tones and a hit for the fall!

Something new is brewing in the nail world

As you have read earlier on my blog, Sephora by OPI was on sale because they were discontinuing their products. Was any of my OPI lovers heartbroken?

Well, the good news is that Sephora came out with their own line of nail polishes called Sephora X. I finally got my hands on one and I must say I was extremely impressed with its quality.

Sephora X is separated by 9 different categories as follows:

  • The Illusionists: Confetti, glitter or opalescent top coats
  • The Cosmics: Full coverage glitter
  • The Sparklers: 3D glitter
  • The Prismatics: Metallic shimmer
  • The Pearlescents: Aluminum metallic shine
  • The Electrics: Bright neons
  • The New Classics: Rich, shiny classic colours
  • The New Neutrals: Neutral shades that enhance skin tones
  • The Minimalists: Sheer wash of colour
  • The Industrialists: Grey everything
  • The Under and the Cover: Base and shiny top coat
Here's my take on it:
I bought the shade Dingbat which is a light sky blue. At first, I wasn't so sure that anything could replace my love for OPI but this bottle of lacquer proved me wrong. I absolutely love how rich and pigmented the color is! You could technically get away with just one coat with I applied two coats to get a richer colour. I'm usually really bad with my nails but this polish really lasted for a whole week without any chip!

A must try for sure!

Visage du Jour

Makeup of the Day ~

Happy Tuesday! Today I just wanted to post my MOTD. I recently got a new pigment from NYX and really wanted to play with it so this is the result. I went for a colorful smokey look with a mix of pink, corals, and green.

Hope you guys find it inspirational to try different colors!

How to contour with blush. How to contour with a blush.

Sorry I've been a little M.I.A lately. I've been so busy with weddings and birthdays, etc.

To make it up for you all, I'm showing you how to contour with blush.
This picture tutorial is perfect for those busy bees; people with very little time to get ready in the morning but still wants a polished look.

A lot of people contour their faces with a bronzer, then blush, then highlighter but you can achieve the same contoured effect with simply a blush.

To start, you need a darker blush, one that could pass for a bronzer or blush. I used Benefit’s Dallas which is currently out to be one of my faves!
You also need a domed blush brush. I used Quo’s Blush Brush.

First you want to start off with your foundation and eyes applied like I’ve done so in this picture.

Then, you want to make a fish face and suck in your cheeks. You want to focus on applying the blush right along your cheek bones so right above the indent of your face. Then blend your blush up to your temples. You can use what’s left on your brush and apply a bit above your eyebrows. This will bring some warmth to your face.

And here's the finished product.
As you can see, the blush contrasted the area below my cheek bones which really shapes and contours your face, making my baby fat cheeks appear more structured and smaller.

I hope you enjoyed this tutorial. Let me know what else you'd want me to create a picture tutorial for!

Product Review: Makeup Forever Aqua Brow

With summer here, it is important that we have makeup that could sustain the heat and water.

Makeup Forever’s aqua brow is one of my favourite brow products right now for this season. It's waterproof, highly pigmented, creamy, and super long lasting. The creamy texture allows for an easy blend so you can achieve a natural look while the waterproof formula keeps it on all day. The gel even adheres to areas where there is no hair so if you are missing hairs in parts of your brow, this product is perfect for you. Finally, this highly pigmented gel allows you to use very little so a tube like this will last you at least 8-10 months even if you are using every day.

Personally, I apply this product with a brush in the morning, wear it through my day at work, go to the gym, and when I get home at night, it’s still there! Just make sure you have a flat gel brow brush or even an eyeliner brush so you can achieve an accurate application.

My personal favorites are:
SEPHORA COLLECTION - Classic Angled Liner/Eyeliner Brush #15

MAKE UP FOR EVER - Eye Brow Brush 9N
